If there’s one question I’m always asked it’s, “What else can I do with ChatGPT?”

While AI is always in our news feed, recent data tells us that people are still barely scratching the surface of what’s possible. While ChatGPT has 100,000 million weekly users, only 1% of people pay for the full version – ChatGPT+, which is also now available for both enterprise and small teams.

In this week’s video I walk you through the three use cases I facilitate groups through in every workshop. Each of these are recommended for ChatGPT+

3 Ways I Use ChatGPT to Achieve More and Work Less

Use Case 1: Using AI for Strategic Planning

In 2023 Microsoft shared the top 5 obstacles to productivity. They were

• Inefficient meetings
• Lacking clear goals
• Too many meetings
• Feeling uninspired
• Not easily finding information I need

So when they go on to say that 68% of people don’t have uninterrupted time in their day to focus on innovation it’s safe to say that too many inefficient meetings is a clear barrier. One way to change this is to turn meetings into workshops.

This approach turns every meeting into a dynamic, interactive workshop, driving active participation and diverse idea generation. It’s about structured creativity, where problem-solving is guided by specific frameworks, leading to more focused and productive discussions. Workshops are time-boxed for efficiency, ensuring meetings are purposeful and outcome-oriented. This not only empowers every participant, enhancing team morale and engagement, but also ensures that each session concludes with immediate, actionable outcomes. By adopting this workshop model, we’re not just meeting; we’re collaboratively innovating and efficiently solving problems.

One of my favorite strategies is a method by AJ Smart called, “The Lightning Decision Jam” where in 60-90 minutes, designed to specifically by reducing unstructured discussion and instead fostering direct action. You can learn more about it here. At the end of a session like this, we have so many post its and so much to summarize to create next steps. This is where ChatGPT is the perfect member of your team. You can take photos of all the notes and then use this prompt that I share in the video. As always we’ll use the SPARK Framework to structure it

Prompt:

In our school district, the situation is that we need to modernize our teaching methods. Our problem is that teachers are overwhelmed with administrative tasks and can’t focus enough on student engagement and the skills we know they’ll need that are shared by the world economic forum. 

Our aspiration is to use AI to automate administrative work and have more time for deeper learning so our students are college and career ready and can design their future with confidence. We aim to achieve a more efficient teaching environment and improved student performance. I’m going to share the photos with our notes. Based on this, can you analyze and suggest what we might be missing or haven’t considered yet in our plan to integrate AI in our education system? (attach photos)

Use Case 2: From Paper to Project with ChatGPT

Professional development experiences have always been a challenge in education. And when you pair that with a technology moving as quickly as AI it’s easy for people to feel overwhelmed. I personally believe in the value of learning the skills of prompting, as this allows you to be a creator, vs consumer of wrapper applications. For over a year, the human-centered approach of “prompting the human before you prompt the machine” as people design their SPARK Framework wins the hearts and minds of people as they see the promise of what’s possible. Prompt:

I’m a 10th-grade English teacher in California, looking to align with the Common Core State Standards CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.10.2, which focuses on analyzing a theme or central idea of a text and its development over the course of the text. I just watched a video sharing how I can effectively integrate AI tools in a way that aligns with design thinking principles and UDL, ensuring the project is accessible and engaging for all students. Next week we are going to start reading Animal Farm so it’s the perfect time for me to try something new and have you help me plan.

My challenge is that while I want to embrace innovative teaching methods, I’m unsure about integrating AI. I’m concerned about my students’ overreliance on AI for easy answers and not developing critical thinking skills. Plus, I’m not very familiar with AI myself. Given my hesitancy and concerns about AI, I’m also struggling to ensure academic integrity and originality in student work. I aspire to use AI in a way that complements my teaching, encourages deep literary analysis, and fosters critical thinking. I want to create a project that goes beyond traditional essay writing. Something that truly engages my students and encourages original thinking.

The ideal result would be a student-driven project that allows them to explore and present a literary theme in a unique, creative way ensuring that each student can express their understanding in a manner that resonates with them while also allowing me to cover the standards.  Can you share 4 strategies to help  me create this learning experience, and share anything else I might be missing or what else I should consider. 

Use Case 3: Execute on Your Business Idea

We all have entrepreneurial ambitions, but we don’t always know where to start. So in this example Let’s say you want to start a blog or an online course. You have a passion and expertise to share, but the task of starting can feel overwhelming. In the video I share how you can use SPARK and ChatGPT to help guide you through this process. I’m inspired to start a blog or an online course but feel overwhelmed. It’s a venture filled with excitement and possibility, yet I’m uncertain about the first step in this journey.”

Problem:

The enormity of the project is daunting. I’m grappling with questions about content creation, choosing the right platform, engaging my audience, and marketing strategies. It’s a mix of excitement and fear; I worry about being lost in the vast digital space, not reaching my audience, or faltering in my content quality.”

Aspiration:

My dream is to create a blog or course that’s not only informative and engaging but also resonates deeply with my audience. I envision a space where I can share my expertise, inspire others, and cultivate a thriving community. I want this project to reflect my passion and connect with people who share similar interests.”

Result:

I’m aiming for a launch that’s not just successful in numbers but meaningful in impact. A well-crafted blog or course with a clear, compelling narrative, a robust content plan, effective marketing, and genuine audience engagement. The ultimate goal is to establish a strong digital presence that fosters learning, growth, and community.”

Stepping into this new venture, I’m aware there are aspects I might not have considered. Are there blind spots in my planning, especially regarding content authenticity, audience interaction, or sustainable growth strategies?
