Summer Series: Sprint to Success with Design Thinking

This summer instead of new episodes I’m sharing highlights from previous guests. Their insights and ideas will challenge your thinking. They will help you explore new opportunities and overcome challenges you may be experiencing. Over the past year I’ve thought deeply about the dynamics of today’s world and the skills and mindset I need to continue to enhance and develop.

Summer Series: Sprint to Success with Design Thinking

At the top of my learning list was content creation. I’m always thinking about a quote from Dr. Tony Wagner, author of Creating Innovators who says the world doesn’t care what you know, it cares what you can do with what you know. The best way to learn is to do. So, if you follow me on Instagram you’ll have seen that I recently attended The Creator Retreat in Greece. I attended with two former guests of the podcast Jeremy Austin and Angie Villa.

Whether your strength is in writing, audio, or video or a combination, having the clarity and confidence to communicate your skills and strengths is a must in today’s world. When I went back to school after more than ten years to get my doctorate, I was sure that unlike in 2007, building your online presence and learning how to create content to showcase my skills and strengths would be an integrated part of my experience. Unfortunately I was wrong.

As someone who has experienced the difference having an online presence makes, and having learned from the many guests who come here on the show, I was able to complement my traditional experience with a more relevant one. Learning to do this has never been more important. Building an online presence will connect you with people and opportunities that you may otherwise never have known about. And this work starts now. Not a few months before graduation only to realize you have other passions and interests. Or worse you are at the mercy of whatever’s available on a job board.

You have the power to design your life.

You can pursue your passion. Also, there is a world of people who will serve as mentors, advocates and bridges to opportunities. But first you have to put yourself out there.

To help you gain the clarity and confidence to do this too I have two resources for you.

One, this podcast. This summer instead of new episodes I’m sharing highlights from previous guests. Their insights and ideas will challenge your thinking and help you explore new opportunities and overcome challenges you may be experiencing.

Second, I’ve created a free resource. I will walk you through the steps to gain the clarity and confidence to share your skills. These resources will help you share your strengths and story with the world using LinkedIn. Head to askmsq.com or use the link in my Instagram to download it today. If you have questions about the guide send me a message, and with that let’s listen in to today’s guest spotlight.
