This report is for educational leaders and policymakers who want to understand the evolving AI World and help our students prepare to thrive in it.

This report looks at the growing gap between the attention paid to the development of intelligence in machines and humans. It argues for placing a greater priority on the development of human intelligence, as well as the need for humans to develop skills necessary to collaborate with machines in a way that both amplifies their own intelligence and celebrates their humanity.

We make a strong case for the development of academic deep learning programs complemented by efforts to amplify human intelligence with new technologies. We outline a practical roadmap for schools to begin implementing changes, including the development of AI literacy programs, so that all students can succeed in the AI world. We argue that such efforts should be complemented by efforts to prioritize the development of unique human attributes such as caring, courage, and love.
